Test Centres Across South London — We Know the Routes
Where you take your driving test depends on which area you're learning in. South London has several DVSA test centres — each covering a specific patch of the city. Your instructor will know exactly which centre applies to you. And they'll prepare you for the exact roads and junctions that examiner uses on test day. That local knowledge matters more than most people realise.
Here are the five main test centres covering our South London areas:
Morden Driving Test Centre
Address: 10 Tudor Drive, Morden, Greater London, SM4 4PE
• Covers: Morden, Mitcham, Raynes Park, Colliers Wood, Motspur Park, Lower Morden
• Pass rate: Around 47–49%, close to the national average
• Routes include London Road, the A24 dual carriageway, and residential streets near Morden Park
• Examiners regularly test roundabouts at Epsom Road and Green Lane
• Bay parking and parallel parking come up often in the quieter streets near the centre
• Key to passing: confident roundabout technique and calm independent driving on the A24
Tolworth Driving Test Centre
Address: Douglas House, 1b Douglas Road, Tolworth, Kingston Upon Thames, Greater London, KT6 7RZ
• Covers: Surbiton, New Malden, Worcester Park, Cheam, Tolworth, Kingston Vale, Stoneleigh
• Pass rate: Around 48–51%, slightly above the national average
• Routes mix suburban residential roads with faster A-road sections including the A3
• Roads around Berrylands are commonly used for manoeuvres
• Examiners expect confident lane discipline at speed
• Key to passing: strong independent driving on A-roads and clean emerging at busy junctions
Mitcham Driving Test Centre
Address: Redhouse Road, Mitcham, Merton, Greater London, CR0 3AQ
• Covers: Mitcham, Tooting, Merton, Earlsfield, Colliers Wood
• Pass rate: Around 42–45%, one of the more challenging centres in our area
• Routes include Tooting High Street, the A217 through Mitcham, and roads around Figges Marsh
• High traffic density — especially during school run and peak hours
• Lower pass rate reflects the road complexity, not a higher examiner standard
• Key to passing: early exposure to these roads throughout your lessons, not just before your test
One important tip: book your test slot as early as possible. DVSA slots in South London fill up 8 to 12 weeks in advance. Your instructor will help you pick the right time based on your progress.
